61. Break Point The Secret Diary of a Pro Tennis Player (Large Print 16pt) - Vince Spadea

Largeprint (Paperback) Our price: 24.99  - Click book title for availability and further details

Groomed since the age of eight by his obsessive father Vince Spadea, by most accounts - except Andre Agassi:'s, who called Vince ''a journeyman'' at age 25 - has been a success. At the start of the 2005 season, 19th seed Spadea was the only over - 30 - year - old player besides Agassi to be ranked in the top - 20 on the world professional tennis circuit. Now in his 13th professional season, Spadea gives a riveting account of the ultra - competitive and often hilarious world of a pro tennis player. He battles injuries, coaching and agent changes, and a slight from American Davis Cup captain Patrick McEnroe as he continues his improbable climb back up the rankings. Along the way, he considers taking two months off to appear on The Bachelor, practices with a still combative John McEnroe in a New York City tennis club, and prowls LA parties with his buddy, comedian Jon Lovitz, trying to pick up actresses like Natalie Portman and jump start his fledgling acting career. Agassi, Andy Roddick, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Martina Navratilova, Maria Sharapova, Jennifer Capriati, Tim Henman, and Marat Safin are all analyzed in more colourful and personal terms than the tennis media has ever provided. In these pages, Spadea breaks the taboo of the ''whatever you see, hear and do here, stays here'' locker room mentality.

62. Brim Full of Passion Large Print - Alan Wilkinson, Wasim Khan

Largeprint (Paperback) Our price: 14.99  - Click book title for availability and further details

Adult, sports autobiography, printed in Large Print. Brim Full of Passion follows the story of Wasim Khan's journey to becoming the first British born Asian to play professional cricket. Eight-year-old Wasim Khan yanks a board out of the garden fence, nicks his Mum's only decent knife, and starts whittling. A month later he's putting his first bat to good use: sending the school's tennis balls high onto the roof so that he can sneak back over the gate at night and liberate them. Brim Full of Passion follows this son of Kashmiri immigrants from the grimy streets of Small Heath to leafy Edgbaston, where he breaks in through the fence to watch England play Pakistan. A year later he's there legitimately, batting for the under-13s. The dream is simple: Warwickshire, England, the world. After four gruelling years as an apprentice pro he makes the all-conquering Bears team of 1995, and is on the brink of the England 'A' squad. But a loss of form, a dodgy selection policy, and one of the first British-born Asians to make the country grade loses his confidence. A move to Sussex is a disaster: he falls out with captain Chris Adams, can't get a game, and winds up playing for Derbyshire for nothing. At 30 it's all over and he's embarking on a new career as a coach. Anything to stay in the game he loves.

Largeprint (Paperback) Our price: 24.99  - Click book title for availability and further details

The 1961 UFO abduction of Betty and Barney Hill stirred worldwide interest, because of the book The Interrupted Journey, the subsequent media coverage, and a 1975 TV movie. The case is mentioned in almost all UFO abduction books. It also became a target for debunkers, who still attack it today. But the complete story of what really happened that day, its effect on the participants, and the findings of investigators has never been told ... until now. In Captured!, you'll get an insider's look at the alien abduction, previously unpublished information about the lives of the Hills before and after Barney's death in 1969, their status as celebrities, Betty's experiences as a UFO investigator, and other activities before her death in 2004. Kathleen Marden, Betty Hill's niece, shares details from her discussions with Betty and from the evidence of the UFO abduction. She also looks at the Hills' riveting hypnosis sessions about their time onboard the spacecraft. In addition, coauthor, physicist, and ufologist Stanton T. 68. Carrying Fire A Memoir by Evelyn B. Yohner - Evelyn B. YohnerRuth De Jong

Largeprint (Paperback) Our price: 24.99  - Click book title for availability and further details

The era of narratives in which missionaries followed God’s calling to remotest lands are necessarily dwindling away as a new generation of missionaries stands on the shoulders of these pioneers, and technology redefines how missionary endeavor is accomplished. These stories are like rare pearls, collected from a way of “doing” missions no longer done, when intrepid men and women sacrificed everything to obey God’s voice. Such is the story of Art and Evy Yohner.

Evy shares the wonder, joy, and heartaches of their journey as they followed God’s call to “carry their fire,” their passion for God and the lost, to Suriname, South America, to find and take the Gospel to the lost tribe of Akuriyos, and ultimately to an international ministry of teaching, encouragement, and support to other missionaries. Evy details the struggles and humor of adapting to life in the jungle, a new culture, and raising their young daughter, while making expeditions deep into the jungle in search of the Akuriyos. Through Art’s gift of photography, they capture their love for the people God had called them to seek out in His name. Their experiences in the jungle serve as the “proving ground” for the ministry to which God would later call Art & Evy, carrying the fire of their passion for Him for the rest of their lives.

Evy’s narrative is a loving dedication to her dear Art, and a tribute to God’s love, power, and provision, as well as a moment in history in which humble people did humble things to the glory of God.

Evy Bio

Evy Yohner grew up in West Virginia, Virginia, and Maryland, meeting her future husband, Art, when her family lived at Aberdeen Proving Ground. Receiving Christ as Savior soon after marrying, Art and Evy felt the call of God to commit their lives to serving Him: “Lord, Anything, Anytime, Anywhere, at Any Cost.” Their commitment and passion for God took them to full time service in Suriname, South America, and then to minister internationally with World Team, and eventually begin Art Yohner Missions Ministries (AYMMI).

Evy is now retired and lives in Bradenton, FL, less than a mile from her daughter, Ruthi, and her family, and is a great-grandmother of four. She originally began writing her story for her grandchildren, but her many friends encouraged her to collect and share her adventures. She maintains a ministry of encouragement and counsel, and continues to write and share her insights gleaned from a lifetime of commitment to God.

70. Catherine Tate Laugh It Up! (Large Print 16pt) - Tina Ogle

Largeprint (Paperback) Our price: 19.99  - Click book title for availability and further details

Catherine Tate is far too talented and must be destroyed' is how DawnFrench described the newcomer after they appeared together in the short - lived BBC comedy series ''Wild West in 2002''. Although not a particularly well - known face to television audiences at the time, Catherine had steadily been building her career as an actress and comedy performer for many years, having decided on a career as an actress while she was still at school. Born in London in 1968, Catherine was brought up by her mother and grandmother, her mother having left her father when Catherine was a baby. Catherine went to Notre Dame High School in Southwark and the Salesian College in Battersea before attending the Central School of Speech and Drama. Her talent for comedy eventually led to appearances in ''The Harry Hill Show'' and ''That Peter Kay Thing'' and to her becoming involved in Lee Mack's ''New Bits'' show at the Edinburgh Festival.A starring role in her own, sell - out, one - woman show in Edinburgh was followed by the offer of the role alongside Dawn French in Wild West. ''The Catherine Tate Show'' and the host of characters, from the argumentative teenager Lauren Cooper to the foul - mouthed Nan Taylor and the effete Derek Faye, along with their myriad catchphrases, quickly followed, establishing Catherine as a household name, although few of her comedy fans realize that she has also appeared in productions at The National Theatre and with The Royal Shakespeare Company. Catherine leads a very private life along with her partner, stage manager Twig Clark, and their young daughter, Erin. ''Laugh It Up!'' (catchphrase of her character Geordie Georgie) is the first major unauthorised biography of Catherine Tate, Tina Ogle drawing on numerous interviews and background material to build a true and complete portrait of this hugely talented performer.

73. Clearly Now, the Rain A Memoir of Love and Other Trips (Large Print 16pt) - Eli Hastings

Largeprint (Paperback) Our price: 19.99  - Click book title for availability and further details

Serala drank frat boys under the table. She wore saris and ate delicately from plates of curry at family events; elsewhere she wore a lip ring, designer shades, and a cowboy hat and ordered bloody steaks. She wrote volumes of poetry, made amateur films, singlehandedly ran a chapter of Food Not Bombs, and ended up as a fierce advertising agency executive. She often slept less than five hours per week and would, at the slightest excuse, drive from L.A. to New York in a cool 50 hours. In some moments of danger, she split the lips of menacing strangers. And she gave herself over to the casual knives and fists of others for nothing more than another bag of heroin that she had plenty of money for anyway.

Clearly Now, the Rain traces the decade - long relationship of Eli Hastings and his friend Serala: from ill - advised quests for narcotics in Mexican border towns through summer road trips, from southern California to Tennessee and on to New York City and Seattle, from 1996 to the very last days of 2004, when Serala s journey concluded tragically at age 27.

74. Cleopatra A Life - Stacy Schiff

Largeprint (Hardback) Our price: 27.00  - Click book title for availability and further details

The Pulitzer Prize-winning biographer brings to life the most intriguing woman in the history of the world: Cleopatra, the last queen of Egypt.
Her palace shimmered with onyx, garnets, and gold, but was richer still in political and sexual intrigue. Above all else, Cleopatra was a shrewd strategist and an ingenious negotiator.
Though her life spanned fewer than forty years, it reshaped the contours of the ancient world. She was married twice, each time to a brother. She waged a brutal civil war against the first when both were teenagers. She poisoned the second. Ultimately she dispensed with an ambitious sister as well; incest and assassination were family specialties. Cleopatra appears to have had sex with only two men. They happen, however, to have been Julius Caesar and Mark Antony, among the most prominent Romans of the day. Both were married to other women. Cleopatra had a child with Caesar and--after his murder--three more with his protege. Already she was the wealthiest ruler in the Mediterranean; the relationship with Antony confirmed her status as the most influential woman of the age. The two would together attempt to forge a new empire, in an alliance that spelled their ends. Cleopatra has lodged herself in our imaginations ever since.
Famous long before she was notorious, Cleopatra has gone down in history for all the wrong reasons. Shakespeare and Shaw put words in her mouth. Michelangelo, Tiepolo, and Elizabeth Taylor put a face to her name. Along the way, Cleopatra's supple personality and the drama of her circumstances have been lost. In a masterly return to the classical sources, Stacy Schiff here boldly separates fact from fiction to rescue the magnetic queen whose death ushered in a new world order. Rich in detail, epic in scope, Schiff 's is a luminous, deeply original reconstruction of a dazzling life."

75. Clive Caldwell, Air Ace (Easyread Large Edition) - Kristen Alexander

Largeprint (Paperback) Our price: 24.99  - Click book title for availability and further details

'His courage, determination, skill and his undoubtedly outstanding ability as a leader are an inspiration to his Wing and worthy of the highest praise.' Extract from DSO citation Clive Caldwell was officially attributed with 27 ½ victories and became Australia's highest scoring fighter pilot in World War II. In addition, he became an ace in both the Middle East and Pacific theatres - the only Australian pilot to attain this status. Kristen Alexander has had unrivalled access to Caldwell's personal papers as well as official and privately held records. She vividly brings to life Caldwell's aerial exploits and presents a man driven to carry out his duty. Originally considered an individualist, Caldwell became a fine fighter pilot and a dedicated leader, much loved by those he commanded. But he did not wear the restrictions of the RAAF well and, despite his achievements, endured public inquiry over liquor trading and the so-called 'Morotai Mutiny'. Even so, he continued to be well-regarded and respected by the public. This biography is a celebration of Caldwell's military achievements. It details his rise from a green fighter pilot to Wing leader and includes striking details of his air battles. It also includes unprecedented discussion of the Barry Inquiry and Caldwell's court-martial.

79. Confessions of an Economic Hit Man (Easyread Large Edition) - John Perkins

Largeprint (Paperback) Our price: 27.99  - Click book title for availability and further details

Economic hit men (EHMs) are highly paid professionals who cheat countries around the globe out of trillions of dollars. They funnel money from the World Bank, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), and other foreign "aid" organizations into the coffers of huge corporations and the pockets of a few wealthy families who control the planet's natural resources. Their tools include fraudulent financial reports, rigged elections, payoffs, extortion, sex, and murder. They play a game as old as empire, but one that has taken on new and terrifying dimensions during this time of globalization. John Perkins has lived four lives: as an economic hit man (EHM); as the CEO of a successful alternative energy company, who was rewarded for not disclosing his EHM past; as an expert on indigenous cultures and shamanism, a teacher and writer who used this expertise to promote ecology and sustainability while continuing to honor his vow of silence about his life as an EHM; and now as a writer who, in telling the real-life story about his extraordinary dealings as an EHM, has exposed the world of international intrigue and corruption that is turning the American republic into a global empire despised by increasing numbers of people around the planet.
