81. PROPHECIES OF THE END TIMES Centuries of Yesterday - Quatrains of Today - Oberto Airaudi Falco Tarassaco

Largeprint (Paperback) Our price: £11.00  - Click book title for availability and further details

A prophecy states the possible scenarios that may await us; on the one hand to prepare us for them and on the other to show how intricately interconnected are the threads of time – so much so that we are able to foresee events, if only in allegorical form.

It is perhaps this which brings all prophecies closest to our daily lives: they remind us of the “circular” dimension of space and time where, more than chronology or the reading of cause and effect, what counts is the angle from which we observe events amid the laws governing the universe.

To better understand the frame of reference in which to interpret Falco Tarassaco’s prophecies, we need to consider the theory of the separation of the planes which constitutes one of the keys to interpretation that he put forward to bring his message into focus.

Falco explains that by the middle of the third Millennium, planet Earth will have arrived at a situation where life is unsustainable owing to the deterioration of the environment and the impoverishment of spiritual values.

The Galactic Council, which watches over the evolution of life, decides to send a being to Earth, six hundred years back into the past, entrusted with the task of creating new conditions for survival and a new plane of reality, separate from the one that had “already happened”. Consequently, today, the whole of humanity lives on a plane of existence which is both real and virtual, the purpose being to densify this alternative plane so that it can substitute the previous one.

85. The Third Space Using Life's Little Transitions to Find Balance and Happiness (16pt Large Print Edition) - Adam Fraser

Largeprint (Paperback) Our price: £27.99  - Click book title for availability and further details

How to use life's little transitions to find balance and happiness. Every day we undertake dozens of different roles, tasks and experiences. Most of us habitually carry our mindset and emotional state from one of these activities to the next - and all too often this has negative, occasionally disastrous consequences. For years we've been told it's getting the big stuff right that gives us balance and makes us happy: the holidays, the audacious goals, the pay rises. But in our hearts we know it's really the small stuff: a great result at work, our welcome home, an absorbing conversation, a game with the kids. This book is all about getting the small stuff right - not 'sweating' it, but making it much more rewarding, much more often. It's about using the 'Third Space' (that moment of transition between a first activity and the second that follows it), to mentally 'show up' right for whatever comes next. Gaining control of the Third Space will empower you to do this any time and every time. You will consistently be your best for your work, your family, your friends and yourself - and you will find that the key to balance and happiness was always there waiting for you in the Third Space. Includes a foreword by Stephen Lundin, author of Fish.

86. Teaching Meditation to Children (16pt Large Print Edition) - David FontanaIngrid Slack

Largeprint (Paperback) Our price: £27.99  - Click book title for availability and further details

Meditation is one of the best tools we can offer children to help them cope with the intensity of their feelings and ease the pressures in their lives - among family, with friends and at school. It gives even very young children power over their thinking and emotions through enhanced self - understanding and is perhaps even more valuable in helping adolescents to navigate the emotional peaks and valleys of the transition from childhood to adulthood. This book explains the varying techniques for working with children in different age groups (from five to eighteen) and shows how the benefits of meditation can help in a range of ways: from relieving shyness, anxiety and tension to reducing hyperactivity, aggression and impatience. Meditation has also proved helpful when treating asthma, insomnia and depression, and in improving concentration, establishing emotional balance and enhancing imagination and creativity.

88. This Water Five Tales (16pt Large Print Edition) - Beverley Farmer

Largeprint (Paperback) Our price: £27.99  - Click book title for availability and further details

This is likely to be the last work by Beverley Farmer, one of Australia's great prose stylists, and a pioneer of women's writing, in her exploration of feminine concerns, and her use of different literary forms - novel, short story, poetry, essay, journal, myth and fairy tale. This Water is a collection of five tales, three of them novella length, each a fragmentary love story with a nameless woman at the centre, and a mythic dimension (Greek or Celtic, folklore or fable) rooted in the power of nature. Water and stone, ice and fire, light and darkness play an important role in all the stories, as do other motifs, closely related to women's experience, blood, birth, possession and release, marriage and singularity. One tale, set on the south coast of Victoria, is animated by the legend of the Great Silkie, following Sylvia Plath and Joan Baez; another finds its rebellious princess in Lake Annaghmakerrig in Ireland; a third has Clytemnestra as its central figure, mourning the daughter sacrificed by her husband Agamemnon so that he can go to war with Troy. The stories contain and reflect and shadow one other: in each the women speak, act, think for themselves, in opposing or escaping from situations ordained by authority. Beverley Farmer is the author of three collections of short stories, including Milk, which won the NSW Premier's Award for Fiction, the writer's notebook A Body of Water, and two novels The Seal Woman and The House in the Light, which was shortlisted for the Miles Franklin Award. Her most recent book, The Bone House, a collection of three long essays on the life of the body and the life of the mind, was published by Giramondo in 2005.

89. See You at Breakfast (16pt Large Print Edition) - Guillermo Fadanelli

Largeprint (Paperback) Our price: £24.99  - Click book title for availability and further details

Set in modern - day Mexico City, See You at Breakfast is the story of four characters, leading lives of quiet desperation, who are thrown together by a despicably violent act. Cristina is an optimistic prostitute managing work, police harassment and the demands of the men who fall in love with her - such as Ulises, a solitary office worker who obsesses over a promotion he will never receive. His longtime friend Adolfo, a part - trained veterinarian incapable of distinguishing between a dog and a coyote, is in turn consumed by his infatuation with his neighbour, the beautiful and sheltered Olivia. She is the daughter of Jehovah's Witnesses, and leads a life of hermit - like seclusion, utterly oblivious to his persistent voyeurism. As Ulises and Cristina's relationship moves from finance to romance, and Adolfo works to make his fantasies of life with Olivia a reality, each seeks the comfort of normality amid the chaos of the city's corruption and crime, and the seeming impossibility of maintaining a trusting relationship. Witty, dark and moving, See You at Breakfast offers a refreshingly frank take on gender politics, the nature of attraction and the burden of everyday life.

One macho cowboy, one nerdy astronomer... and a heartache that neither could have seen in the stars...

Cowboy Morgan West was raised on his mother's stories of Glencoe and the Mackenzie family who ran it. Heartbroken after a bitter break-up, he decides to see the place and people for himself. He intends to work for one season only, but then he meets Rebecca—a woman he craves and a woman, he believes, he doesn't deserve.

When mysterious Morgan West begins to turn up wherever she is, astronomer Rebecca Mayhew is confused. She can tell anyone who asks how many miles Saturn is from the earth (roughly 746 million) and the likelihood of there being life on another planet (high), but she can't begin to explain in rigorous scientific terms why her fingers itch to caress Morgan's broad muscled back, or why the only calculation on her mind is how long it would take to kiss every square inch of him.

She's confused, yet curious, and Morgan is more than happy to satisfy that curiosity. But instead of their physical relationship clarifying things, Rebecca's nice neat orderly world unravels as both her and Morgan's painful pasts are exposed, revealing secrets that have the potential to explode more than just their own worlds.

97. PROFEZIE DEGLI ULTIMI TEMPI Centurie di ieri - Quartine di oggi - Oberto Airaudi Falco Tarassaco

Largeprint (Paperback) Our price: £11.00  - Click book title for availability and further details
