Largeprint (Paperback) Our price: 19.99  - Click book title for availability and further details

Many moms struggle with finding time to spend with God - is it even possible, between diaper changes, carpools, meals and messes? It is possible, if only moms could connect with their Creator and vacuum cereal out of the carseat at the same time. Megan Breedlove, a stay-at-home mom of four energetic little ones, is convinced it can be done . . . and Manna for Moms is a daily devotional that shows moms how. One of the main ways God speaks to His children is through His calling on their lives. That means that moms - who have a high and holy calling, indeed - can hear God's voice and respond to Him even as they carry out the daily tasks of mothering their children. Each devotion included in Manna for Moms is encouragement and inspiration to face every hectic day with an open heart, expecting God to reveal Himself in the midst of whatever chaos arises! There are also tips and suggestions for readers to stay alert for God's teaching in their interactions with their children. Instead of struggling to find time with God, moms can invite Him into every precious moment.

Patria Press has successfully reintroduced America's past with this fine series for children.” â€"The Review Zone “Haley” Jackson grew up in poverty on the levees of New Orleans, hunting alligators along the Mississippi River for food and gathering driftwood for fuel with her brother Peter. But every Sunday, when her father preached at the Baptist Church, young Mahalia sang proudly in the choirâ€"the youngest member at age five! Lively illustrations and engaging text pull young readers into the world in which Mahalia Jackson grew up. Whether constructing her doll's braid from blades of grass, stuffing a cornhusk mattress, or adjusting to life in her Aunt Duke's home after her mother died, young Mahalia displayed the persistence and courage that foreshadowed the civil rights champion and world-famous gospel singer she would become. Working as a maid and a laundress, she always found the time for her passionâ€"singing her special brand of music known as gospel in churches. She met the challenge of being black in what was largely a white entertainment world, overcoming poverty and prejudice and pioneering the way for all aspiring African Americans who succeeded her. 20. Make Their Day! Employee Recognition Proven Ways to Boost Morale, Productivity, and Profitsthat Works - Cindy Ventrice

Largeprint (Paperback) Our price: 26.99  - Click book title for availability and further details

In their efforts to retain employees, companies spend billions on recognition programs - by one estimate, $27 billion on noncash incentives in a single year - and yet last year 65 percent of employees reported they felt unrecognized. How is it that we are spending so much and achieving so little? Cindy Ventrice says it's because few organizations understand what makes an employee feel truly recognized. Awards, perks, and privileges don't really motivate - nobody knocks themselves out for a plaque or a parking place. Effective recognition is integrated into the daily routine of the workplace, and the key elements are intangibles: praise, thanks, opportunity for growth, and respect. This is why recognition is a task for managers, not human resources. Only managers are in a position to offer these kinds of rewards, and Ventrice explains what managers must do to make them specific, relevant, and truly personal - all vital aspects of effective recognition. She discusses the importance of peer recognition and even self-recognition, but in survey after survey, employees report that the recognition they most value comes from their managers and supervisors. In this revised second edition, Ventrice offers new examples of successful recognition programs from around the world and addresses providing effective recognition in an increasingly virtual work environment. And there are two completely new chapters: on understanding cultural differences in reward preferences - generational, international, and others factors - and on ensuring that reward practices are perceived as fair and equitable.Make Their Day! reveals what employers and employees should expect from recognition and what managers can do to give morale and productivity a genuine, lasting boost.
