1. Winnie-the-Pooh translated into Hindi and Hindustani A Translation of A. A. Milne's "Winnie-the-Pooh" - A. A. Milne

Largeprint (Paperback) Our price: 8.88  - Click book title for availability and further details

This is part of project to translate Winnie-the-Pooh into other languages. The idea is children need to learn to read at an early age and the best way to teach them to read is to provide reading materials that they find interesting. Since Winnie-the-Pooh is the most popular children's book world-wide, translating this book into the different languages of the world will be conducive to teaching children to read in those languages. We are not translating the entire book. We are only translating Chapter 2, which is the most interesting, most popular and shortest chapter. Winnie-the-Pooh is the most popular children's book in the world. It is based on the most popular children's character in the world. Part of the reason for this is Winnie-the-Pooh is based on an actual living bear in the London Zoo named Winnie. Christopher Robin is the name of a real person who was the son of the original author, A. A. Milne. The son had a teddy bear he liked to carry around him he named Winnie-the-Pooh.

2. Palli Pumm Winnie-the-Pooh in Faroese Language A Translation of A. A. Milne's "Winnie-the-Pooh" - A. A. Milne

Largeprint (Paperback) Our price: 9.99  - Click book title for availability and further details

Winnie-the-Pooh is the most popular children's book in the Faroe Islands. It is also the most popular children's book in the world, but it is especially popular in the Faroe Islands. Faroese Language is spoken by 66,000 people primarily in the Faroese Islands. It is a North Germanic language spoken by about 66,000 people, 45,000 of whom reside on the Faroe Islands and 21,000 in other areas, mainly Denmark. It is one of five languages descended from Old Norse, the others being Norwegian and Icelandic. Faroese and Icelandic, its closest extant relative, are not mutually intelligible in speech, but the written languages resemble each other. There are also speakers in Denmark among the Faroe Islanders who have immigrared there. As with most other Germanic languages, Faroese has a large number of vowels, with 26 in total. Vowel distribution is similar to other North Germanic languages in that short vowels appear in closed syllables (those ending in consonant clusters or long consonants) and long vowels appearing in open syllables. This translation is by Gunnar Hoydal. Gunnar Hoydal was past president of the Association of Writers of the Faroe Islands (called Rithvundafelag Froya in Faroese) from 1981 to 1986, an association for authors and translators who write in the Faroese language. These authors live primarily in the Faroe Islands, but some of them also live in other countries. Some Faroese writers write not only in Faroese but also in Danish, but most Faroese writers write primarily in Faroese. The Faroese language is only spoken by the Faroese people of the Faroe Islands, which currently have a population of 50.000 people. The Association of Writers of the Faroe Islands was established in 1957. Ishi Press has reprinted translations of Winnie-the-Pooh into 44 languages thus far. We have published it in Afrikaans, Albanian, Arabic, Armenian, Azerbaijani, Bengali, Bulgarian, Cebuano, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Esperanto, Faroese, Finnish, French, Frisian, German, Greek, Hungarian, Icelandic, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latvian, Persian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Serbian, Sinhalese, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese, Yiddish, Hindi, Urdu, Khowar, Kalasha and Latin. We have three more languages ready.

Largeprint (Paperback) Our price: 19.99  - Click book title for availability and further details

The students of Vancouver International Ballet Academy are preparing to perform the ballet Coppelia. A ballet about dolls, love, and trickery, Coppelia doesn't have a moral, and neither do the rehearsals. If Taylor, Julian, Alexandra, and Kaitlyn don't rise to meet the challenges this ballet is putting them through, they might not make it on stage. The dancers might be fully alive, but they have more than enough real - life drama to keep them busy. The casting of the principal role of Swanhilda keeps getting changed, but is it really about who's the best dancer right now, or is something else influencing the casting decisions? Summer school acceptances and rejections are in, but who's telling the truth about where they're going? And who's coming back to VIBA after the summer?

6. You're So Sweet Ballet School Confidential (Large Print 16pt) - Charis Marsh

Largeprint (Paperback) Our price: 19.99  - Click book title for availability and further details

The Vancouver International Ballet Academy has opened its doors after the winter break, and everyone is back! Julian is finding it difficult to concentrate on dance because of his family; his teachers think he could be great if he could just focus. Kaitlyn believes she's the best dancer, but her body type is getting in the way of her (and her mother's) dance ambitions, tempting her to lie. Alexandra is as focused as usual, but others don't seem to understand how much time and energy she has to give to ballet if she wants to be the best. While Taylor is still criticized at VIBA, she's getting a lot of positive attention from outside - especially from a recently retired Canadian ballerina who's taken an interest in her and Julian. Who will get noticed in competition and the spring seminar? Whatever happens, someone's going to lose and someone's going to win.
